Jamie O’Neal’s ‘Gulf Of Mexico’ Captures Florida Christmas Fun

Who doesn’t need a dose of the beach in the middle of December?

Country singer Jamie O’Neal has offered just that in her new Christmas album Spirit & Joy. Filled with heartfelt holiday music including three original songs, the album’s track “Gulf of Mexico,” co-written with her husband Rodney Good and father Jimmy Murphy channels holiday fun paired with sand, surf and umbrella drinks.

The platinum-selling entertainer whose songs hit the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2000, 2001 (“There Is No Arizona,” “When I Think About Angels”), and 2005 (“Somebody’s Hero,” and “Trying To Find Atlantis”) says Spirit & Joy is something she’s wanted to do since writing a holiday song during the COVID pandemic.

Busy touring this season, O’Neal says one day she’s going to head to the beach for the holidays. Maybe the Gulf of Mexico?
